Days After 9\/11 Tulsi Gabbard Slams “Betrayal Of American People” Over Syria<\/h2>\n

In a rare and unprecedented speech delivered on the House floor\u00a0just two days after the nation memorialized 9\/11, Democratic Hawaiian Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard on Thursday slammed Washington’s longtime support to anti-Assad jihadists in Syria, while also sounding the alarm over the current build-up of tensions between the US and Russia over the Syria crisis.<\/p>\n

She called on Congress to condemn what she called the\u00a0Trump Administration\u2019s protection of al-Qaeda in Idlib\u00a0and\u00a0slammed\u00a0Washington’s policies in Syria as\u00a0“a betrayal of the American people”<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014\u00a0<\/em>especially the victims and families that perished on 9\/11.<\/p>\n

Considering that\u00a0Congresswoman Gabbard herself is\u00a0an Iraq war veteran and current Army reserve officer who served in the aftermath of 9\/11<\/strong>, it’s all the more power and rare\u00a0that a sitting Congress member would make such forceful comments exposing the hypocrisy and contradictions of US policy.<\/p>\n
