The DOJ has continued to hide information from Congress and repeatedly obstructed oversight&#8211;even defying multiple Congressional subpoenas.<\/p>\n<p>We have had enough.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Mark Meadows (@MarkMeadows) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MarkMeadows\/status\/1022255468461391872?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 25, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>News of the resolution comes after weeks of frustration\u00a0by Congressional investigators, who have\u00a0repeatedly accused Rosenstein and the DOJ\u00a0of &#8220;slow walking&#8221; documents related to their investigations. Lawmakers say they&#8217;ve been given the runaround &#8211; while Rosenstein and the rest of the DOJ have maintained that handing over vital documents would compromise ongoing investigations.<\/p>\n<div class=\"SandboxRoot env-bp-350\" data-twitter-event-id=\"0\">\n<div class=\"resize-sensor\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Not even last week&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2018-07-21\/agent-foreign-power-historic-first-doj-releases-carter-page-fisa-application\">heavily redacted release<\/a>\u00a0of the FBI&#8217;s FISA surveillance application on former Trump campaign Carter Page was enough to dissuade the GOP lawmakers from their efforts to impeach Rosenstein. In fact, its release may have sealed Rosenstein&#8217;s fate after it was revealed that the FISA application\u00a0and subsequent renewals &#8211;\u00a0<b>at least one of which Rosenstein signed off on<\/b>, relied heavily on the salacious and largely unproven Steele dossier.<\/p>\n<p>In late June, Rosenstein along with FBI Director Christopher Wray clashed with House Republicans during a fiery hearing over an internal DOJ report criticizing the FBI&#8217;s handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation by special agents who harbored extreme animus towards Donald Trump while expressing support for Clinton. Republicans on the panel grilled a defiant Rosenstein on the Trump-Russia investigation which has yet to prove any collusion between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis country is being hurt by it. We are being divided,\u201d Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC)\u00a0said of Mueller\u2019s investigation.\u00a0 \u201cWhatever you got,\u201d Gowdy added, \u201c<strong>Finish it the hell up because this country is being torn apart.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"max-width-video-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"fluid-width-video-wrapper\"><iframe id=\"fitvid648191\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4uN9uIqNqxg\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Rosenstein pushed back &#8211; dodging responsibility for decisions made by subordinates while claiming that Mueller was moving &#8220;as expeditiously as possible,&#8221; and\u00a0insisting that he was &#8220;not trying to hide anything.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>We are not in contempt of this Congress, and we are not going to be in contempt of this Congress<\/strong>,\u201d Rosenstein told lawmakers.<\/p>\n<p>Congressional GOP were not impressed.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201c<strong>For over eight months, they have had the opportunity to choose transparency.
