Former Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper admitted in a\u00a0CNN<\/em>\u00a0interview Saturday that former President Obama instigated the ongoing investigations into Donald Trump and those in his orbit.<\/p>\n Speaking with\u00a0CNN<\/em>‘s Anderson Cooper, Clapper let slip:<\/p>\n If it weren\u2019t for President Obama we might not have done the intelligence community assessment<\/strong>\u00a0that we did that set up a whole sequence of events which are still unfolding today including Special Counsel Mueller\u2019s investigation.\u00a0President Obama is responsible for that. It was he who tasked us to do that intelligence community assessment in the first place.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n http:\/\/twitter.com\/PriscillasView\/status\/1020021634563026946?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1020021634563026946&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.zerohedge.com%2Fnews%2F2018-07-22%2Fclapper-obama-was-behind-whole-thing<\/p>\n Recall in May,\u00a0Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) fired off a\u00a0letter<\/a>\u00a0to the Department of Justice\u00a0 demanding unredacted versions of text messages between FBI agent Peter Strzok and former bureau attorney Lisa Page, including one exchange which took place\u00a0after Strzok had returned from London<\/strong>\u00a0as part of the recently launched “Operation Crossfire Hurricane<\/a>”\u00a0\u00a0referring to the White House “running” an unknown investigation<\/strong><\/u>. Strzok had been in London\u00a0<\/strong>to interview\u00a0Australian ambassador\u00a0Alexander Downer about a drunken conversation with Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos, who –\u00a0after reportedly being\u00a0fed\u00a0information<\/a>\u00a0–\u00a0mentioned Russia having Hillary Clinton’s emails.<\/p>\n Strzok: And hi. Went well, best we could have expected. Other than [REDACTED] quote: \u201cthe White House is running this<\/u>.<\/strong>\u201d My answer, \u201cwell, maybe for you they are.\u201d And of course, I was planning on telling this guy, thanks for coming, we\u2019ve got an hour, but with Bill [Priestap] there, I\u2019ve got no control\u2026.<\/p>\n Page:\u00a0Yeah, whatever (re the WH comment).
