Doug Collins during a joint hearing of the House Judiciary and House Oversight Committees.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"gmail-1\">\u201cI have a top secret clearance\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"gmail-2\">with some SCI compartments,\u201d replied Strzok, the former deputy director of the FBI\u2019s counterintelligence division. \u201cSCI\u201d is an acronym for highly classified materials known as Sensitive\u00a0Compartmented Information.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2018\/06\/21\/strzok-loses-security-clearance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(RELATED: Sessions Claims That Peter Strzok Lost Security Clearance)<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The statement appeared to be a contradiction to a claim that Attorney General Jeff Sessions made during an interview in June.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Strzok, as I understand, has lost his security clearance,\u201d Sessions told conservative radio host Howie Carr on June 21.<\/p>\n<p>But a DOJ official told TheDCNF that\u00a0\u201cStrzok was given a limited clearance in prep for today\u2019s hearing which will end when this is over.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Strzok was escorted out of FBI headquarters on June 15, a day after the Department of Justice\u2019s Office of the Inspector General referred him to the FBI for a disciplinary review over his Trump text messages.<\/p>\n<p>Strzok was the FBI\u2019s top investigator on the probe into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government. During that time, he spoke critically of Trump, calling the Republican an \u201cidiot\u201d and mocking his supporters.<\/p>\n<p>He was removed from Special Counsel Robert Mueller\u2019s team in July 2017 after the discovery of his text exchanges.
