Debbie Wasserman Schultz and dozens of other Democrats, for allegations of cybersecurity breaches, theft and potential espionage, as part of a plea agreement one one count of unrelated bank fraud.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>After the entry of your client\u2019s plea of guilty to the offense identified in paragraph 1 above,\u00a0<strong>your client will not be charged with any non-violent criminal offense in violation of Federal or District of Columbia law which was committed within the District of Columbia by your client prior to the execution of this Agreement<\/strong>\u00a0-Awan Plea Agreement<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Awan withdrew hundreds of thousands of dollars after lying on a mortgage application and pretending to have a medical emergency that allowed him to drain his wife&#8217;s retirement account. It said\u00a0<strong>evidence \u201csuggests steps are being taken to conceal their activity\u201d and that their behavior mirrored a \u201cclassic method for insiders to exfiltrate data from an organization.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Server logs show, it said, that\u00a0<strong>Awan family members made \u201cunauthorized access\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0to congressional servers in violation of House rules by logging into the servers of members who they didn\u2019t work for.\u00a0&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2018\/07\/03\/awan-cybersecurity-not-charged\/?utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_campaign=site-share\">Daily Caller<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We&#39;re supposed to believe that Awan wired hundreds of thousands of dollars to Pakistan, tried to flee the country, was kept on DWS&#39;s payroll&#8230; <\/p>\n<p>All for the no-jail offense of lying on a home equity application? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Ta7boWELut\">pic.twitter.com\/Ta7boWELut<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Techno Fog (@Techno_Fog) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Techno_Fog\/status\/1014228561266278400?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 3, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Awan was arrested at Dulles airport while attempting to flee the country &#8211;\u00a0one day after\u00a0reports emerged that the FBI had seized a number of &#8220;smashed hard drives&#8221; and other computer equipment from his\u00a0residence.\u00a0While only charged with bank fraud,\u00a0<strong>there is ample evidence that the Awans were spying on members of Congress<\/strong>\u00a0through their access to highly-sensitive information on computers, servers and other electronic devices belonging to members of Congress.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Repeat &#8211; there has been NO investigation of the serious allegations about Imran Awan.<\/p>\n<p>No proof at all AND we know a number of key people have never even been spoken to investigators.<\/p>\n<p>Ask <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lukerosiak?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@lukerosiak<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Lee Stranahan (@stranahan) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/stranahan\/status\/1014183830658445312?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 3, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Luke Rosiak of the\u00a0<em>Daily Caller\u00a0<\/em>has compiled the most comprehensive coverage of the Awan situation from start to finish &#8211; and outlines exactly why the Awans&#8217; conduct warranted serious inquiry.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>On Feb. 3, 2017, Paul Irving, the House\u2019s top law enforcement officer,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2018\/07\/02\/awan-memo-server-vanished\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">wrote in a letter<\/a>\u00a0to the Committee on House Administration that soon after it became evidence, the server went \u201cmissing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The letter continued: \u201cBased upon the evidence gathered to this point, we have concluded\u00a0<strong>the employees are an ongoing and serious risk to the House of Representatives, possibly threatening the integrity of our information system<\/strong>s.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Imran, Abid, Jamal, Alvi and a friend were banned from the House network the same day<\/strong>\u00a0Kiko sent the letter.<\/p>\n<p>The alleged wrongdoing consisted of two separate issues.<\/p>\n<p>The first was the cybersecurity issues. In an April 2018\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2018\/04\/16\/congress-failed-supervise-it-threats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">hearing<\/a>\u00a0spurred by the Awan case,\u00a0Chief Administrative Officer Phil Kiko\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/redirect.viglink.com\/?format=go&amp;jsonp=vglnk_153063547519012&amp;key=e7609c039c08d3ae00aebd97e6f0bffd&amp;libId=jj4phiai010110e3000DAlcgacl5a&amp;loc=http%3A%2F%2Fdailycaller.com%2F2018%2F04%2F16%2Fcongress-failed-supervise-it-threats%2F&amp;v=1&amp;out=http%3A%2F%2Fdocs.house.gov%2Fmeetings%2FHA%2FHA00%2F20180412%2F108051%2FHHRG-115-HA00-Wstate-KikoP-20180412.pdf&amp;ref=http%3A%2F%2Fs3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com%2Fdailycaller%2Fawan%2Fawanseries.html&amp;title=Hearing%20Details%20Congress%27%20Cyber%20Failures%20%7C%20The%20Daily%20Caller&amp;txt=testified%20that%20experts%20found%20%E2%80%9Ctwo%20dozen%E2%80%9D%20problems\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">testified<\/a>:\u00a0\u201cThe bookend to the outside threat is the insider threat. Tremendous efforts are dedicated to protecting the House against these outside threats, however these efforts are undermined when these employees do not adhere to and thumb their nose at our information security policy, and that\u2019s a risk in my opinion we cannot afford.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The second was a suspected theft scheme. Wendy Anderson, a former chief of staff for Rep. Yvette Clarke,\u00a0<strong>told House investigators\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2018\/06\/24\/clare-cos-exposed-awan-theft-allegations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">she believed Abid was working with ex-Clarke aide Shelley Davis<\/a>\u00a0to steal equipment, and described coming in on a Saturday to find so many pieces of equipment, including iPods and Apple TVs, that it \u201clooked like Christmas.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Meanwhile, as we\u00a0noted in June, the judge in the Awan case, Tanya Chutkan, was appointed to the D.C. US District Court\u00a0by President Obama on June 5, 2014,\u00a0<strong>after Chutkan had contributed to him for years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/chutkan1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-100695\" src=\"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/chutkan1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"261\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/chutkan1.jpg 500w, https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/chutkan1-300x157.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.opensecrets.org\/donor-lookup\/results?name=tanya+chutkan\"><em>Opensecrets.org<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Prior to her appointment to the District Court, she was a partner at law firm Boies Schiller &amp; Flexner (BSF) where\u00a0<u><strong>she represented scandal-plagued\u00a0biotechnology company\u00a0Theranos<\/strong><\/u>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0<strong>which hired\u00a0Fusion GPS to threaten the news media<\/strong>. Because of this,\u00a0<strong>Chutkan\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2017\/12\/12\/federal-judge-recuses-herself-from-a-second-fusion-gps-case\/\">had to recuse herself from two cases<\/a>\u00a0involving Fusion GPS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, BSF attorney and crisis management expert Karen Dunn &#8211; who\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/story\/2016\/09\/hillary-clinton-debate-prep-228558\">prepped Hillary Clinton for debates<\/a>\u00a0and served as\u00a0Associate White House Counsel to Obama &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.is\/dLwsm\">represents Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin<\/a>.\u00a0Another BSF attorney,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bsfllp.com\/lawyers\/dawn-l-smalls.html\">Dawn Smalls<\/a>, was John Podesta&#8217;s assistant while he was Obama&#8217;s Chief of Staff. And if you still had doubts over their politics, BSF also republished an article\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bsfllp.com\/news-events\/to-my-friends-who-support-trump-because-hes-pro-israel.html\">critical of Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0in their &#8220;News &amp; Events&#8221; section.<\/p>\n<p>In short,\u00a0<strong>the Judge in the Awan case &#8211;\u00a0appointed by Obama after years of contributing to him, was a\u00a0<em>partner<\/em>\u00a0at a very Clinton-friendly law firm<\/strong>. It should also be noted that Obama\u00a0appointed Chutkan&#8217;s husband, Peter Krauthammer,\u00a0to the D.C.
