Mark Meadows (R-NC) said on Wednesday that failure to comply could result in holding Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in contempt, or even impeachment.<\/p>\n<p>Moments before the resolution was passed, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein traded barbs in a fiery exchange during Congressional testimony &#8211; with Jordan accusing Rosenstein of keeping information from Congress.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am not keeping any information from Congress,\u201d Rostenstein insisted, before being cut off.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn a few minutes, Mr. Rosenstein, I think the House of Representatives is gonna say something different,\u201d Jordan fired back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t agree with you \u2026\u00a0<strong>If they do, they will be mistaken<\/strong>,\u201d replied Rosenstein.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&quot;Your use of this to attack me personally is deeply wrong.&quot; <\/p>\n<p>Deputy AG Rosenstein hits back Rep. Jim Jordan in combative exchange that saw multiple other lawmakers intervening. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/VJbmi0BL2N\">https:\/\/t.co\/VJbmi0BL2N<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/JYoRgJGUZP\">pic.twitter.com\/JYoRgJGUZP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; ABC News (@ABC) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ABC\/status\/1012364206430044160?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 28, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Rosenstein then launched into Jordan &#8211; defending redactions in various documents, and said &#8220;the use of this to attack me personally, is deeply wrong,&#8221; adding &#8220;I\u2019m telling the truth and I&#8217;m under oath.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The House panels have been feuding with Rosenstein for months over the documents.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte said in his opening statement in a hearing with Rosenstein on Thursday that his panel\u2019s oversight \u201chas been hampered\u201d by the Justice Department and FBI\u2019s \u201clack of consistent and vigorous production\u201d of documents. &#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house-passes-resolution-demanding-doj-hand-over-documents-escalating-feud\">Washington Examiner<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"ad__wrapper-element\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201c[I]t has felt like pulling teeth much of the time to obtain and review revenant documents,\u201d said Goodlatte (R-VA).<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>I understand some people still state concerns about the speed of the production, but those concerns are mistaken<\/strong>,\u201d Rosenstein told Goodlatte.\u00a0\u201c<strong>Most requests have been fulfilled<\/strong>\u00a0and other document productions are in progress for this committee and other committees.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a Wednesday letter to House Speaker Paul Ryan made public on Thursday, Rosenstein insisted that the House resolution &#8220;fails to acknowledge the extraordinary \u2013 and unprecedented \u2013 efforts that Trump Administration officials and other Department employees are making to comply with a considerable volume of oversight requests.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMovement on this resolution would be contrary to the spirit of accommodation that was present in our productive meeting with Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Chris Wray on June 15.
