73% Of Republicans Say Election Could Be “Stolen” As Trump Slams “Rigged Elections”

The Trump campaign stepped up their “election rigging” rhetoric over the weekend with a tweet storm from Trump that blasted the “dishonest and distorted media” working in coordination with the Clinton campaign and alleged voter fraud at polling places.

Trump surrogate, Rudy Giuliani also appeared on CNN and made some of the more aggressive election rigging claims we’ve heard so far in this election cycle.  Among other things, Giuliani said that the election is “absolutely being rigged” with dead people voting in numerous precincts as Democrats bus people from polling station to polling station where they vote “four, five, six, seven, eight, nine times.”  Finally, Giuliani concluded by saying “if you want me to tell you that the elections of Chicago and Philadelphia are going to be fair, I would have to be a moron to say that.” Per Bloomberg:

Trump said in a Twitter message Sunday that the Nov. 8 election is “absolutely being rigged” at polling places and through media coverage. Former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani said election fraud was a sin committed almost entirely by Democrats in America’s inner cities, where populations tend to be heavily minorities.

They leave dead people on the rolls, and then they pay people to vote those dead people four, five, six, seven, eight, nine times,” said Giuliani, one of Trump’s most prominent supporters, on CNN’s “State of the Union.” He added, “dead people generally vote for Democrats.

Cheating by Republicans is rare, Giuliani said. “They don’t control inner cities the way Democrats do,” he said.

Meanwhile, a Politico/Morning Consult Poll found that 41% of registered voters say that the election cold be stolen from Trump while 73% of Republicans fear the same.

The American electorate has turned deeply skeptical about the integrity of the nation’s election apparatus, with 41 percent of voters saying November’s election could be “stolen” from Donald Trump due to widespread voter fraud.

The new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll — conducted among 1,999 registered voters Oct. 13 through Oct. 15 — shows that Trump’s repeated warnings about a “rigged” election are having effect: 73 percent of Republicans think the election could be swiped from him. Just 17 percent of Democrats agree with the prospect of massive fraud at the ballot box.

Per the Wall Street Journal, Trump running mate, Mike Pence, also blasted “monolithic support of the national media for Hillary Clinton’s campaign” but said his campaign would “absolutely accept the result of the election.”

Mr. Trump for weeks has been preemptively exhorting supporters to monitor poll locations on Election Day, calls that have divided his GOP supporters. Asked about that on TV Sunday, Mr. Pence said those comments were an attack on the press.

“I think what Donald Trump is talking about is frankly what appears to be the monolithic support of the national media for Hillary Clinton’s campaign,” Mr. Pence said, adding in the same appearance, “We will absolutely accept the result of the election.”

Meanwhile, the Hillary campaign continued to just say “Russia” over and over again…

The Clinton campaign has neither confirmed nor denied that the material being posted by WikiLeaks is authentic. But her supporters have focused much of their ire on the leaks themselves. On Sunday, Mr. Kaine described the leaks as an effort to destabilize the election.

“Hillary and I stand up for the integrity of our elections. Hillary and I stand against Russian efforts to meddle in the American election,” the Virginia senator said on ABC.

…while Nancy Pelosi continued to make incoherent statements in which she seemingly confirmed that there is, in fact, a double standard in the media while also claiming that it shouldn’t matter.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi  (D., Calif.) on Sunday was asked on CNN if there was a double standard in coverage of Mr. Trump’s alleged sexual misconduct and the longtime allegations of sexual harassment against Bill Clinton, which the former president has denied.

Well it is a double standard, but Bill Clinton is not on the ballot,” Ms. Pelosi said, an oft-repeated point made by Democrats since the issue emerged this week. “He is not on the ballot, he is not on the ballot. Hillary Clinton is the candidate for president that we are asking people to vote for.”

Buckle up, with WikiLeaks now coming under attack and stepped up rhetoric from the Trump campaign on election rigging it should be a very interesting week.
